Pearson Campout

Even as the summer had barely begun, my nephew began asking if we were going to have our campout. It's an annual event and, as an aunt, I would not want to disappoint.

But, where did the summer go??

We squeezed it in at the last minute. It was definitely not an afterthought, but finding the time in the midst of different family vacations and activities was a challenge.

My nieces and nephews are very special people, along with some great friends that make our campout memorable. You'll have to ask them if they enjoyed the campout this year, but I can assure you that I had an excellent time.

My favorite activity was reffing "Capture the Flag" from the hunting tower while the kids played in the field below. They strategized and worked as a team and displayed great sportsmanship whether they won or lost.

Instead of tenting this year, most of us slept in a new little cabin.

But some preferred the comfort of the great outdoors.

To top it off, we went on a Hobo Hike. I felt like a hobo after only 19 hours in the woods.
Thankfully, the weather was beautiful and we finished up before the raindrops of former Hurricane Isaac came through.
